At Superfeet, we’re Designed for movement. Built to change lives. That’s not just our mission, it’s the energy we bring to everything we do.
As Product Designer, you will lead product design for Superfeet product concepts, line extensions, and new product development. This is an individual contributor role (no current direct reports) and the primary internal design resource, guiding internal efforts and external contractors/partners as needed. You will partner closely with the product team and other key internal stakeholders to translate consumer insight, biomechanical intent, brand strategy, and commercial objectives into innovative, manufacturable solutions—owning design intent from concept through commercialization in support of Superfeet’s mission to keep athletes everywhere moving.
- Own industrial design for assigned categories/projects from concept through production, aligning consumer/athlete needs, biomechanical intent, brand strategy, and business goals.
- Push the boundaries of design language, form, function and materials while maintaining performance goals and developing manufacturability
- Turn briefs, research, and market insight into clear concepts and product architecture that balance performance, comfort, durability, aesthetics, manufacturability, and cost.
- Communicate design intent through sketches, CAD, renderings, prototypes, product specifications, and presentations to drive fast, aligned decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally (across Product Management, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Operations) to iterate concepts/samples and deliver launch-ready solutions.
- Support DFM, cost, and technical reviews—making smart tradeoffs without losing core design intent.
- Manage external design/visualization partners as needed; contribute to innovation workstreams; model Superfeet values and build trusted relationships.
- Strong design fundamentals and proficiency in sketching, prototyping, 3D CAD (Rhino preferred), rendering, Adobe Creative Suite, and technical communication.
- Ability to translate athlete and consumer insights and performance requirements into compelling, manufacturable product concepts and design direction.
- Strong functional problem-solving skills, including product architecture and line-building, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Knowledge of color, materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, construction, prototyping, tooling, and production considerations.
- Ability to provide color, material, and finish direction and contribute to broader product and material strategies.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across engineering, development, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
- Strong organization and project management skills, including the ability to align teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Passion for innovation, sport and movement, sustainable design, and creating products that positively impact people’s lives.
Your Qualifications:
- People enjoy working with you
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Product Design (or related)
- +5 years designing and developing physical consumer products (sporting goods/footwear/performance preferred).
- Proven experience owning products from initial concept through production.
- Demonstrated experience partnering effectively with engineering, product development, vendors, and manufacturing teams.
- Portfolio demonstrating functional problem-solving, product architecture and line-building, and thoughtful design rationale—not aesthetics alone.
- Experience working with materials, finishes, manufacturing methods, prototyping, tooling, and production processes.
