Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a skilled Project Manager with strong experience in transit projects to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex capital projects. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder engagement from project initiation through closeout. The ideal candidate understands the unique operational, safety, and regulatory requirements of working in active transit environments and excels at guiding multi‑disciplinary teams toward successful outcomes.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end project management for transit capital projects, including stations, track and guideway improvements, BRT corridors, maintenance facilities, and system upgrades.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk registers; ensure alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, safety, and third‑party stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Oversee design development, permitting, procurement, and construction phases; ensure compliance with contract documents and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare status reports, and maintain accurate documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage consultant and contractor performance, including review of deliverables, change orders, and claims.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues proactively, and maintain clear communication channels across all teams.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including FTA requirements when applicable.
  • Support community outreach, public engagement, and coordination with local jurisdictions as needed.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in transit, rail, or heavy civil infrastructure.

Key Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of transit systems, including stations, trackwork, utilities, signals, communications, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi‑phase projects in active or operational transit environments.
  • Familiarity with public‑sector procurement, FTA guidelines, NEPA processes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore).
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP,  401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.  We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $185,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
