About us

Sparrow is the first high-tech, high-touch employee leave management solution. Our mission is to make it simple for companies to provide their employees with all kinds of leave (i.e. family, medical, etc.).

Currently, the leave management process is painful and inefficient for everyone. Company leaders struggle to keep up with regulations and processes that change frequently, and the employees going on leave are overwhelmed by bureaucracy at an exceptionally important juncture in their career. Sparrow transforms this ordinarily tedious, error-prone, complex to remain compliant, and time-consuming process into a 30-minute end-to-end experience saving teams time (20 - 40 hours per leave) and money (up to $30K per leave).

Sparrow is headquartered in San Francisco but all employees work remotely across the country. Sparrow is a diverse, highly talented, and supportive team. Together, we are hardworking, collaborative, smart, and humble—after all, we’re solving real problems.

About the role

We’re looking for a highly driven Recruiter to help scale our revenue-generating, customer experience, and technical teams. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Sparrow’s Talent Acquisition team and leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Customer Operations, Partnerships, Engineering and Product to attract, engage, and hire top talent. You’ll play a critical role in executing our hiring strategy, building strong talent pipelines, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience. This is a contract-to-hire position.

What you will do
  • Own multiple full-cycle recruiting roles within Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, RevOps, Partnerships, and more with the ability to flex into technical roles as needed (Engineering, Product).

  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, hiring strategies, and refine interview processes while adhering to Sparrow’s standardized procedures.

  • Proactively source and engage high-quality candidates through outbound sourcing, referrals, and talent networks.

  • Build and maintain strong pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

  • Drive a best-in-class candidate experience from initial outreach through offer close, meeting all internal SLA's.

  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with People and Leadership teams on recruiting initiatives and talent strategy.

About you
  • 3–7+ years of recruiting experience.

  • Experience configuring interview plans and feedback forms in Ashby.

  • Proven track record of hiring high-performing candidates in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong sourcing skills and comfort with outbound recruiting.

  • Experience leveraging AI-driven sourcing and recruiting tools to scale pipeline generation and improve efficiency and candidate quality, with a willingness to experiment and adopt new technologies.

  • Ability to flex across different types of roles and teams as priorities shift.

  • Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to inform decisions.

  • High ownership, urgency, and attention to detail.

  • Experience recruiting in high-growth startups or scaling organizations.

  • Familiarity with SaaS or tech GTM org structures is a plus.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
