The Growth Finance team supporting the T-Mobile Consumer business is looking for a senior financial analyst who thrives on quantitative analysis and has a proven track record designing and managing driver-based forecasting models focusing on promotional spend and promotional breakage. You will dig into the financials to understand behaviors in the data and improve modeling capabilities as well as provide analytical support to address various financial questions. This role is an integral part of the team with great visibility to leaders in both Marketing and Finance with a lot of opportunity to shine.
The position requires strong understanding of and experience supporting T-Mobile’s consumer Beyond the Smartphone (BTS) business and interrelationships between promotional spend and promotional breakage are a must have. Competency with forecasting models in Excel working with large sets of data or other software such as SAS, R, etc. Proficient in Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, PowerBI, IBM Cognos TM1, Hadoop, and SAP. Willingness to learn and teachable mindset is the key to success in this role.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Refine and develop existing financial models leveraging more sophisticated methods / best practices focusing on Promotional Spend and Breakage.
  • Assist with analysis, design, and testing of various enhancements and changes to data & reports.
  • Synthesize findings into business drivers and provide recommendations to drive change.
  • Develop and manage positive client relationships in a collaborative team environment.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of financial outcomes, reports, and presentations.
  • Interface with and provide recommendations to Finance, Product, Marketing and Accounting partners and leaders.

Skill requirements:

  • Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills to meet critical deadline.
  • Strong understanding of T-Mobile’s Beyond the Smartphone Business.
  • Experience building forecast models/financial models.  Experience with SAS, R, or other statistical software a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to develop strong working relationships both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries to extract and transform data from multiple data sources, including Oracle, Snowflake, and SQL Server.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, including experience with VLOOKUP, INDEX / MATCH, SUMIF functions.
  • Experience with building PowerBI dashboards.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Quantitative concentration (finance, economics, statistics) (Required)

Work Experience:

  • 4-7 years Experience in Finance, Accounting, Forecasting, or Budgeting. (Required)
  • Wireless Telecom experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience with SAP/BPC, Hyperion, or Equivalent, Working knowledge of Business Objects, SQL, Database or other reporting tool. (Preferred)

Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $73,920 - $133,320

National Base Pay Range: $67,200 - $121,200

The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity represents the expected total cash compensation for this role at target performance, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity. Actual earnings may be higher or lower depending on individual performance and overall company results. 

The base pay range reflects the compensation component of this opportunity. The candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
