We will redesign and build a business that thrives as it answers fully to its consumers’ needs—and endures over time through genuinely putting people at the heart of what we do. We will lead with our values and act with care, compassion, and kindness. By doing this, we will Change Lives Together, every day and everywhere.

Position Summary

Help shape the financial future of one of the world's most beloved restaurant brands.

At Nando’s, Finance is more than reporting numbers – we influence strategy.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy beyond traditional financial reporting. The successful candidate will partner across Operations, Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain and Executive Leadership to strengthen enterprise planning, improve business performance, and help build a modern, commercially focused finance organization.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving complex business problems, turning data into decisions and partnering with operations to drive financial results. Also key is the desire to be part of a growing company supported by a large, global organization.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Finance & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to Restaurant Operations and cross-functional leaders.
  • Analyze restaurant-level performance, formulating recommendations on how to improve sales, margins, labor productivity, food costs, and overall profitability.

Strategic Finance Analysis

  • Be a business partner that has responsibility for identifying business case needs, providing financial insight and recommendations that improve long-term business performance.
  • Develop dynamic financial models supporting strategic and operational decisions, gaining exposure to the entire business - including pricing strategy, menu innovation, sales, marketing campaigns, technology initiatives, new restaurant development, and capital allocation.

Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Own the financial planning for a multi-million-dollar restaurant business, including budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning, as well as monthly financial results analysis, partnering directly with operations to turn operations plans into profitable growth.
  • Benchmark financial results to industry to support building of financial plans. Create executive and board-level presentations with meaningful financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Model the design of incentive plans and validate financial metrics.

Feasibility

  • Own the build-up of financial models to assess new restaurant’s return on invested capital
  • Partner with real estate and operations to drive alignment on key assumptions used in underwriting of assessments

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured not simply by delivering accurate reports, but by influencing better business decisions.

The successful candidate is intellectually curious, highly collaborative, and naturally seeks to understand how the business operates. They are comfortable moving between detailed financial analysis and strategic discussions with senior leadership, helping translate data into actions that improve restaurant performance and drive profitable growth.

This individual is viewed as a trusted advisor by both Finance, Real Estate and Operations, consistently identifying opportunities to improve planning, simplify processes, strengthen financial performance, and support Nando’s long-term growth strategy.

  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
