About the Role
SmarTek is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as a key contributor to enterprise-grade applications, driving both backend and UI development, and collaborating effectively with offshore teams across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features for enterprise applications across backend services and modern user interfaces.
Build and integrate REST and SOAP web services using Spring Boot, Hibernate, Servlets, JSP, and MVC/Security frameworks.
Implement front-end interfaces and components using ReactJS (or modern UI frameworks), JavaScript, and jQuery.
Write robust unit tests utilizing JUnit and mocking frameworks (such as Mockito or JMockit) to maintain high code quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, Agile pods, and offshore partners across different time zones.
Manage source code and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Git/TFS and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of overall software development experience.
5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
5+ years of experience building enterprise applications using Servlet, JSP, MVC, and Security frameworks.
3+ years of experience with ReactJS or a similar UI framework.
3+ years of experience using Spring Boot and Hibernate.
3+ years of experience with JavaScript and jQuery.
Demonstrated proficiency with REST and SOAP web services, XML, XSD, and XSLT.
Strong database skills including JDBC, SQL, stored procedures, and JPA.
Experience with unit testing using JUnit and mocking frameworks (e.g., Mockito, JMockit).
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Experience with version control systems including Git, TFS, or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with SCSS (6+ months).
Familiarity with Backbone.js.
Experience with caching frameworks such as Redis, Memcached, or equivalent.
Hands-on exposure to Splunk for log analysis and monitoring.
Working understanding of microservices architecture.
Foundational knowledge of web accessibility standards.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually
