About NexHealth

Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor’s appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?

NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We’re building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

  • Founded: 2017
  • Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
  • Funding: $177M Series C
  • Employees: 200+
  • Trusted by tens of thousands of providers and hundreds of health-tech developers — forging the infrastructure layer that modern healthcare needs

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager – Software to lead and scale our engineering teams responsible for building customer-facing applications and developer infrastructure. • Team Development: Hire, grow, and retain top engineering talent; mentor emerging leaders; and foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and innovation.
  • Execution Excellence: Own the delivery of complex initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring clear alignment between product goals and technical execution.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.
  • Technical Oversight: Guide system architecture, scalability, and maintainability across product domains; champion best practices in code quality, testing, reliability, and security.
  • Org & Culture Building: Shape organizational structures, career paths, and team processes to promote high performance and strong engineering culture.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including managing managers or larger organizations
  • Exceptional people leadership skills with a proven track record of coaching and developing engineers and managers
  • Deep experience delivering complex, customer-facing software at scale
  • Strong judgment in balancing product velocity with long-term technical quality
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive both technical and organizational roadmaps
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, able to partner fluidly with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other teams
  • A builder mindset with experience scaling teams and systems in fast-paced environments
  • Strong ownership and initiative in ambiguous, evolving contexts
  • Bias for action grounded in data-driven decision making
  • First-principles thinking applied to technical and organizational challenges
  • Deep care for people development, team health, and culture
  • Alignment with NexHealth’s core values and mission
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Our Values

  • Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities to participate in the application or interview process. Contact [email protected] to request assistance.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
