Senior Product Manager, Air Shopping Platform

Introduction to the Team:

At Expedia Group, our Air Shopping team sits at the intersection of traveler experience, airline supply, marketplace economics, and distributed systems at global scale. We are responsible for helping millions of travelers discover the right flight options while optimizing the complex ecosystem of airline content, pricing, availability, and customer acquisition.

This team owns key capabilities that power Expedia's presence across major metasearch and demand-generation channels, including platforms such as Google Flights, Skyscanner, Kayak, and other strategic traffic sources. We partner closely with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Airline Supply teams to ensure travelers see compelling, relevant flight offers while balancing marketplace dynamics, content costs, latency, conversion, and profitability.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to directly influence how travelers discover and shop for flights, while shaping the technical and business strategy of one of Expedia Group's most impactful air-commerce platforms

In This Role, You Will:

  • Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Expedia Group's Air Shopping metasearch platform and customer acquisition ecosystem.

  • Drive initiatives that improve traveler acquisition, qualified traffic volume, conversion, and overall business performance across external traffic channels.

  • Define and optimize how Expedia flight offers are surfaced on metasearch platforms, search engines, and other high-scale acquisition channels.

  • Partner with Marketing teams to optimize spend efficiency, return on investment, customer quality, and traffic economics.

  • Work closely with Engineering to make informed decisions around search architecture, content retrieval strategies, caching approaches, performance optimization, and system scalability.

  • Evaluate trade-offs between latency, content freshness, search costs, airline connectivity models, coverage, and customer experience.

  • Develop deep understanding of airline content economics, fare distribution models, supplier relationships, and shopping funnel performance.

  • Use data, experimentation, and customer insights to identify opportunities, validate hypotheses, and measure business impact.

  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, balance competing objectives, and drive execution against shared outcomes.

  • Establish clear product goals, success metrics, and accountability mechanisms across multiple teams.

  • Partner with airline, marketplace, and platform teams to improve offer visibility, content quality, pricing competitiveness, and shopping performance.

  • Shape the long-term Air Shopping vision and contribute to an 18-month roadmap that advances Expedia Group's air-commerce strategy.

  • Navigate ambiguity, evolving priorities, and complex dependencies while maintaining strong delivery momentum.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in product management with a bachelors, 6+ years with a Masters, or equivalent related professional experience.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage deeply on architecture, platform design, scalability, APIs, and performance trade-offs.

  • Proven experience partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver complex products and drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to use data, experimentation, and analytical thinking to inform product strategy and prioritization.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive alignment without direct authority.

  • Exceptional ownership, bias for action, curiosity, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in airline shopping, travel technology, flight distribution, metasearch, or online travel marketplaces.

  • Deep understanding of airline economics, supplier connectivity models, fare content, distribution costs, and marketplace dynamics.

  • Experience with large-scale consumer products, high-volume search systems, pricing platforms, or transactional marketplaces.

  • Strong understanding of traffic acquisition, performance marketing, and customer acquisition economics.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and communicate complex business and technical trade-offs across multiple stakeholders.

  • Track record of influencing technical strategy and earning credibility with senior engineering and cross-functional leaders.
