Job Description

The Senior Product Manager is a key member of the Nordstrom Inventory Product Management team, responsible for establishing and executing against a strategic capability roadmap for OS&D (Overages, Shortages & Damages) — Nordstrom's end-to-end exception management capability across the inbound supply chain. This role plays a critical function in unlocking carrier claims recovery, reducing vendor chargeback disputes, eliminating manual paper-based workflows, and improving inventory accuracy across the receiving network.

The Senior Product Manager will develop a strategic roadmap, in partnership with executive leadership, and cross-functional teams and execute against it. To accomplish that, the product manager will plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production — all while ensuring stakeholder and strategic alignment.

A day in the life…
  • Develop and own the strategic product roadmap for OS&D exception management across the inbound supply chain

  • Lead product and technical discovery - driving aligned MVP scope, delivery estimates, and prioritized execution

  • Partner with supply chain and transportation partners to ground product requirements in operational reality

  • Build business cases with finance and business partners that quantify claims recovery, chargeback dispute reduction, and labor savings

  • Drive prioritization and alignment across cross-functional business and technology stakeholders, including engineering and operations

  • Define product requirements, process flows, data schemas, and system integration specifications in alignment with north star architecture

  • Define and measure KPIs for product features — claims recovery, time-to-resolution, dispute reduction, and elimination of manual workflows — and support ongoing system health

You own this if you have…
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, technology, or operations

  • Technical & Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inbound supply chain operations, including receiving workflows, carrier claims, vendor chargebacks, and OS&D / exception management

  • Strategic Vision & Ambiguity: Ability to set a compelling product vision and multi-year roadmap, and to thrive in ambiguity where requirements, ownership, and scope are still forming

  • Execution: Proven ability to lead discoveries and delivery across multiple engineering teams in parallel, drive to an aligned MVP, and manage a prioritized backlog

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and drive alignment across engineering, supply chain, and transportation — up to executive leadership

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
