We are seeking a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to define and drive Microsoft's Government AI marketing strategy, narrative, and growth priorities, shaping how Microsoft brings innovative AI capabilities to Government organizations worldwide. This role sits at the intersection of AI innovation, industry strategy, and executive influence, helping define how Microsoft leads the Government AI market globally. This role is for a strategic marketer, category builder, and bold storyteller who can put themselves in the shoes of Government leaders, translate complex capabilities into clear and compelling narratives, and create the moments that drive understanding, preference, and adoption. The ideal candidate brings familiarity with how business and technical decision-makers in Government evaluate, select, and adopt AI solutions and knows how to build the messaging, assets, and experiences that move them. This role is especially critical as governments look to AI to deliver better outcomes for citizens, agencies, and national security stakeholders in an era of rapid change.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Market Leadership & Foresight: Shape Microsoft's Government AI market positioning strategy by synthesizing customer, competitive, regulatory, and technology trends into differentiated growth opportunities, investment recommendations, long-term category leadership priorities, and strategic guidance that influences product and go-to-market decision.
- Narrative & Solutions Leadership: Define Microsoft's Government AI narrative architecture and the solution and mission scenario storylines that bring it to life, establishing the messaging framework that aligns product, field, partner, analyst, and executive engagement, and articulating how AI transforms mission and program outcomes for Government agencies.
- Audience & Influence Strategy: Define audience engagement strategies across executive, business, technical, and mission stakeholders, ensuring Microsoft shows up with a differentiated Government AI story across the moments and channels that matter most to accelerate customer engagement, preference, and measurable business growth.
- Go-to-Market Leadership: Define and orchestrate Microsoft's Government AI go-to-market strategy across product, sales, field, industry, communications, analyst relations, and partner organizations, driving alignment on launch moments, customer evidence, field readiness, and measurable business outcomes.
- Executive & Cross - Company Influence: Build alignment across Product, Engineering, Industry, Sales, Communications, Analyst Relations, and Partner leadership teams to shape Microsoft's point of view on Government AI and mission transformation, and drive execution against shared business priorities.
- Business Impact & Performance Optimization: Define success metrics and leverage data driven insights to evaluate market performance, customer adoption, field engagement, and business impact, using those signals to refine strategy, prioritize investments, and maximize growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in product marketing
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
- Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing
- OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated track record of success in product marketing, product management, and GTM strategy and execution
- 6+ years’ experience in product marketing, including market strategy, narrative development, go-to-market execution, and content strategy leadership.
- Demonstrated experience defining market strategy and category narratives and influencing investment or go-to-market priorities across complex cross-functional organizations, ideally for AI, cloud, security, or data platforms.
- Professional experience leading industry go-to-market strategy and developing industry narratives that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience marketing AI, cloud, security, data, or mission-critical technology solutions to Government, Public Sector, Defense, Intelligence, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, marketing, and partner organizations to drive strategic outcomes.
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
