About WGSN

For two decades, WGSN's proprietary trend intelligence has shaped how the world's most valuable brands in fashion, beauty, consumer goods, interiors and food and drink make decisions. Now those same brands are rebuilding their technology around AI (agents, knowledge platforms, recommendation engines and personalization systems) and they want WGSN forecast intelligence flowing into them as a data layer, delivered through the WGSN Intelligence API.

About the Role

You will be the solution lead on WGSN's largest and most complex new enterprise opportunities in North America. Partnering with Enterprise Account Directors, Product and Engineering, you will qualify, scope, design and close Intelligence API and data deals of $500k and above, mainly with new logos.

This is a hybrid technical and consultative role. You won't write code, and the API itself is simple. What matters is that you can sit credibly in two rooms: the commercial conversation with senior business leaders, and the technical conversation with the people who will integrate. Most of all, you'll make sure every deal grows WGSN's relationship with the client, protects the subscription business underneath it, and keeps our intelligence clearly credited to WGSN.

You'll report to the VP North America, working closely with our global commercial leadership, and you'll help raise the commercial standards of the wider North America sales team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the solution and commercial design on priority enterprise deals, turning pipeline into signed multi-year contracts.
  • Run discovery with senior buyers in design, insight, buying and merchandising, and with Chief Digital, Innovation and Data Officers.
  • Map where WGSN intelligence creates value in a client's data and AI plans, and be clear about what the API does and doesn't do.
  • Structure deals that open new use cases, new buyers and new budgets without cannibalizing the existing subscription.
  • Build IP protection and brand attribution into the solution, the commercial model and the licensing terms from day one.
  • Design and run paid pilots that give clients a credible first step.
  • Coach the sales team on qualification and deal design, build collateral and battle cards, and feed customer insight back to Product.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong commercial judgement. You can tell true expansion from revenue moving between budget lines.
  • 6+ years in enterprise pre-sales, solutions consulting or solutions engineering, selling data, content, API or SaaS products to large enterprises.
  • A track record of leading the solution on $500k+ multi-year deals, including new logos.
  • Confidence with C-level and senior VP buyers, and the presence to lead a deal team.
  • Experience protecting IP, attribution and licensing in content, data or API deals, and the judgement to walk away when the terms are wrong.
  • Clear writing. You can produce a proposal an executive will sign and a solution outline an engineering lead will respect.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of fashion, beauty, retail, consumer goods or interiors, or of trend, research or consumer data businesses.
  • Experience with enterprise AI buying: agents, RAG, knowledge platforms, personalization engines.
  • MEDDPICC or a similar qualification method.
  • Spanish or Portuguese.
Experience

6 to 10 years in enterprise pre-sales or solutions consulting within SaaS, content, martech or data businesses.

Location & Ways of Working

Remote within the United States, with a preference for Chicago. We plan to add office space as the North America team grows. Some travel to client sites is expected.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
