Position Overview

The Social Media Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Stanley 1913 brand's social persona comes to life through best-in-class executions across owned channels. Serving as the primary always-on content lead, this role coordinates agency execution, publishing, community management, and channel health while ensuring content is delivered consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s brand standards and creative vision.

In partnership with our social agency of record, the Social Media Manager will lead development and optimization of Stanley's always-on and evergreen content strategy, finding opportunities to develop platform-native, culturally relevant content that strengthens our brand’s digital presence. By running channel excellence, this role ensures Stanley maintains a consistent, engaging presence across priority digital communities while delivering actionable insights to improve performance.

What You'll Do

Strategic & Creative Development

  • Lead social content development and execution, working with agency and senior managers to guide storytelling opportunities that align with channel strategy and audience/ cultural insights.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams: creative, brand marketing, influencer, paid media, PR, and DTC to identify social-led evergreen opportunities that drive growth for the business.
  • Periodically lead campaign development with cross-functional teammates for priority in-line products
  • Support social team members by sourcing platform-specific insights, guidelines, and real-time audiences throughout campaign planning.
Calendar and Community Management
  • Lead and maintain the social calendar as the main daily contact for the agency partner. Ensure publishing, community management, and channel operations are accurate. Make sure all work aligns with the brand voice, creative standards, and platform guidelines.
  • Review and approve publishing calendars, copy, tagging, and asset implementation before content debuts.
  • Identify process improvements to increase operational efficiency and content quality.
  • Proactively flag opportunities for community managers to engage with culture, creators, and community conversations.
Reporting and insights
  • Together with colleagues from the social team, supervise and contribute to agency quarter performance reports. Note trends, distill takeaways, and offer optimization opportunities as needed.
  • Assist Senior Managers and Director of Social by contributing to ongoing reporting asks, delivering firm measurements against critical metrics and translating audience + channel insights into future recommendations.
Who You Are
  • 4+ years experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital media, with a track record of running multiple social accounts across platforms and communities for a consumer goods, lifestyle, or sport brand.
  • Passionate and strong understanding of social media industry standards: platform guidelines, managing short-form video, innovative static creative, social-first storytelling, and overall performance optimizations for social content.
  • Hands-on social content creation experience, content portfolio, and production background a plus!
  • Experience working in environments passionate about crafting and managing materials, ideally within media, entertainment, sports, or production
  • Previous background in building social campaigns from concept to posting, including working cross-functionally with internal and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple workflows, calendars, and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, results-focused environments and adapting quickly to changing priorities
  • Data-driven mentality paired with strong analytical and reporting skills, using social listening data tools (Sprout, Hoot Suite, Sprinklr, Dash Hudson) to measure performance
  • Self-starter who can independently manage priorities while proactively identifying new opportunities
  • Examples of working collaboratively with external partners such as social editorial partners, established brands, talent partners, and influencers
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
