The Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing the lifecycle of software assets within the organization. This role ensures compliance with standard software, licensing agreements, reduces software costs through usage strategies, supports audits, and provides data & reporting. The SAM Analyst collaborates with IT, procurement, finance, and business units to maintain accurate software inventories and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize the software asset inventory using SAM tools
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to software asset management
- Provide regular reporting and dashboards to stakeholders on software usage, compliance, and risks
- Educate internal teams on software usage policies and best practices
- Monitor software usage and compliance with licensing agreements
- Support internal and external software audits, including data collection and reporting
- Analyze software usage trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with procurement and legal teams during software acquisition and renewal processes
- Assist in improving workflows and automation of software requests
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
- Experience with SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow, or similar
- 2–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis/reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager), ITIL Foundation, or equivalent
- Experience supporting software audits
- Knowledge of cloud licensing models (e.g., SaaS, IaaS, PaaS)

- Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is €53,000 gross per year based on full-time employment. We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
