About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience
The Digital Wallet team powers consumption-based pricing at Salesforce. We give customers real-time visibility and control over how they use consumption-based products — so they pay only for what they use, and can budget, forecast, and optimize with total confidence. Digital Wallet drives near-real-time usage and consumption tracking across products like Agentforce and Data 360, powering consumption cards, entitlement draw-down, consumption insights, and proactive notifications. We own high-scale, business-critical systems where accuracy and reliability directly protect customer trust and Salesforce revenue.
We're looking for a dynamic Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS) to lead the technical direction of our most complex, high-scale consumption and usage-metering systems. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role — you'll set architecture, drive execution, and own delivery end-to-end across the full software development lifecycle, from design and code through rollout and long-term production ownership. You're the force multiplier: the go-to technical authority across team boundaries, the one who raises the bar through reviews and mentorship, and the one whose architectural calls keep Digital Wallet accurate, performant, and scalable for every Salesforce customer.
What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Own the technical direction for one or more teams within Digital Wallet — across our full distributed systems stack — driving performance, scalability, and security without compromise.
  • Architect and ship complex, end-to-end features spanning multiple services, systems, and teams — from near-real-time usage ingestion and entitlement draw-down through consumption insights and customer-facing experiences.
  • Author the architectural documents, design specs, and test strategies that multiple teams build against; set and approve test plans with rigorous attention to accuracy, reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Be the definitive technical voice for your team(s) on cross-boundary plans and problems — negotiate interfaces and resolve conflicts with peer teams (Data 360, billing, provisioning) so everything integrates seamlessly.
  • Take ownership of Customer Trust for consumption and billing accuracy: define SLIs/SLOs, design telemetry and rollout strategy across pre-release, canary, and staggered releases, and lead through critical incidents to minimize customer impact.
  • Set a bold, multi-release technical vision — manage backlog and tech debt with judgment, balancing calculated risk against long-term business needs.
  • Set the bar for design reviews, code reviews, testing, and CI practices across your teams.
  • Mentor and elevate senior/lead engineers and peer teams, primarily through reviews, and lead service-ownership practices — on-call rotations, readiness reviews, and automation.
  • Command the room: explain broad initiatives, high-level architecture, and technical vision with clarity and confidence to VP-level leadership, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders.

You're Our Person If...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated history as a senior IC driving architecture and execution across multiple teams or domains.
  • Mastery of engineering fundamentals — fault tolerance, concurrency, API design, data modeling, maintainability, security, scalability, testability — across multiple domains.
  • Hands-on experience across the full SDLC (hybrid engineering), owning features end-to-end from design through production support.
  • Experience building high-scale services across both Platform (Core) and Off-Core / distributed service environments.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical vision, trade-offs, and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, up to VP level.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the teams you work with.
  • Passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and technologies.

Even Better If...

  • Experience with consumption-based / usage-based pricing, metering, entitlement, or billing systems and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with near-real-time data pipelines, usage aggregation, and financial-grade data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce's Data 360 and Salesforce's Core and Off-Core architecture and integrations.
  • Deep experience driving operational maturity — post-incident reviews, process improvement, best practices for critical systems.
  • Skill translating broad business goals into sharp, actionable technical roadmaps.

Why Join the Digital Wallet Team

  • Drive innovation in consumption-based pricing for Salesforce's fastest-growing products, including Agentforce and Data 360.
  • Build systems with direct, outsized impact on customers and on Salesforce's revenue and trust.
  • Join a collaborative, inclusive team that values diversity and bold thinking.
  • Grow fast with continuous learning and development opportunities.
