Introduction to the Team

The Tax organization supports Expedia Group’s business by providing strategic guidance and operational partnership across a complex, highly matrixed environment. This role partners closely with the Senior Vice President of Tax, Vice President of Tax, and Tax leadership team to create focus, structure, and momentum across the organization.

Make an impact!

As the Senior Business Programs Specialist, you will serve as a trusted business partner to Tax leadership. You will optimize leadership time, establish a strong operating rhythm, coordinate complex logistics, and help ensure high-priority work moves forward with precision and discretion. This role is ideal for someone who brings sound judgment, exceptional organization, and a proactive, service-oriented approach—and who is excited to use artificial intelligence and emerging tools to simplify work and improve team effectiveness.

In this role, you will:
  • Own the Tax organization’s operating rhythm, including leadership meetings, quarterly planning, business reviews, organizational communications, and follow-up mechanisms that support execution.
  • Manage domestic and international travel, calendars, meeting logistics, and related planning for senior leaders, supporting business continuity and team priorities.
  • Independently lead operational projects and clearly defined workstreams from kickoff through completion, tracking milestones, risks, dependencies, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, offsites, and team events end to end, including logistics, readiness, communications, and execution.
  • Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to improve shared processes and operational efficiency.
  • Synthesize information from multiple stakeholders and prepare accurate, polished, executive-ready communications, presentations, and documentation for a range of audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to use artificial intelligence, automation, and project management tools to streamline recurring work, improve reporting, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen execution.
Experience and qualifications
  • You have 5+ years of experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization.
  • You have experience coordinating complex calendars, executive travel, leadership meetings, and operational workstreams from planning through execution.
  • You have demonstrated project coordination skills, including the ability to drive follow-through, manage competing priorities, and keep work moving to completion.
  • You use sound judgment and remain composed under pressure, including when handling sensitive information, escalations, shifting priorities, and last-minute changes.
  • You build trust with stakeholders, understand their needs, and coordinate effectively across teams.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can prepare polished, audience-appropriate materials quickly and accurately.
  • You have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, electronic signature platforms, Slack, and Zoom.
  • You have experience using artificial intelligence or automation tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot, to improve efficiency and consistency.
Preferred qualifications
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Tax, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
  • You have experience supporting Tax, Finance, or another highly regulated business function.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
