The Sr Product Manager, Financial Services Portfolio helps define the product and business strategy for T-Mobile's Financial Services portfolio, including T-Mobile Money, and owns products end to end from inception to implementation. This role scans benchmarks and the competitive landscape, understands customer needs and business objectives, and turns them into a prioritized roadmap with clear sequencing, rationale, and business cases. It works closely with internal partners across T-Mobile and with external banking and platform partners to draft features, capabilities, requirements, and user stories, and to launch, run, and grow the business. The role seeks opportunities across all elements of the business, including acquisition, product features and functionality, offers and promotions, and market expansion, to meet and exceed team goals.
The Sr Product Manager is a strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, respected leader of execution, and professional relationship builder all rolled into a single dynamic package. The Sr Product Manager is ultimately accountable and responsible for T-Mobile's internal and external products, platforms, services, and experiences created to achieve that purpose. At a high level this means identifying the intersection of customer problems and unmet needs, technical feasibility, business goals, and funding, and leading a cross-functional team and key partners to deliver against the opportunity.
The Sr Product Manager is a versatile leader who brings deep customer empathy, critical thinking, and commercial, analytical, and leadership strength to deliver differentiated products that drive growth and positively impact customers' lives.
No day is the same for the Sr Product Manager. Day-to-day activities include conducting market research, generating product requirements, defining specifications, setting the long-term strategy of the product, creating the product roadmap, driving and supporting technical delivery end to end, defining scope for releases and product increments, partnering with development, program management, and marketing to define the release schedule, and supporting go-to-market activities as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns the product roadmap end to end, from inception to implementation, tied to customer value and business objectives.
  • Identifies target customers for existing and future products, and designs and drives end user product research.
  • Scans competitors, benchmarks, and the market landscape to identify gaps, opportunities, and areas for innovation.
  • Partners with the business, internal and external partners, and leadership to understand current customer experiences and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to size opportunities, find root cause of issues, and prioritize investment, working with data scientists as needed.
  • Leverages rapid, hypothesis-driven testing and experiments, such as prototypes and A/B tests, to inform direction and validate ideas before building.
  • Builds and runs business cases, financial models, and the product P&L, including cost-benefit, ROI, and NPV analysis, and follows enterprise process to secure and maintain product funding.
  • Translates strategy into detailed features, capabilities, requirements, and user stories that delivery teams can build against, including prototypes where useful.
  • Owns and prioritizes the product backlog with engineering and IT partners, ensuring alignment on priorities based on business and customer impact.
  • Partners closely with engineering and IT on feasibility and solutioning, and factors technical debt and long-term technical investment into the roadmap.
  • Anticipates industry trends and incorporates their potential impact and opportunities into the product process.
  • Identifies and shapes market expansion opportunities across new segments, channels, and offers.
  • Defines product capabilities and drives their deployment through to launch, supporting go-to-market activities as needed.
  • Builds dashboards and instrumentation to understand product and feature performance, and tracks product health and success metrics.
  • Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at the VP level and below, including regularly delivering product presentations and ad hoc analysis to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant product management experience, or equivalent experience launching and leading new products.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in fintech or financial services is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and synthesize product usage data and use it to drive decisions.
  • Strong product sense and judgment, with the ability to prioritize effectively and make sound tradeoffs with incomplete information.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a bias to dive deep, learn quickly, and get to root cause in the data and the details.
  • Experience building and running complex business cases, financial models, and product or business P&L.
  • Experience delivering large, complex business and technology initiatives end to end, partnering closely with engineering and IT.
  • Strong requirements discovery and writing skills, with the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences.
  • Proven ability to communicate with leadership while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
  • Fluency with AI tools and workflows, with a track record of applying them to accelerate product discovery, analysis, and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment for consumer financial products is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an analytical or technical field.

Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity: $145,920 - $263,280

National Base Pay Range: $121,600 - $219,400

The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity represents the expected total cash compensation for this role at target performance, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity. Actual earnings may be higher or lower depending on individual performance and overall company results.

The candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on individual and/or company performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance. The incentive component included in the Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity reflects target performance.
