We are actively seeking an experienced Sr. Solution Engineer, IT Virtualization and Infrastructure to join our team. This remote U.S.–based role reports to the Director of Global Pre-Sales .

Position Summary

This Sr. Solution Engineer position is a global role providing exceptional remote-based support for Rimini Street mission-critical IT Infrastructure and Modernization Solutions.  This includes support, security, performance optimization, and innovation solutions.  Technology coverage areas span IT virtualization, operating systems, cloud, containerization, and AI. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will:

  • Partner with Senior Account Executives to support and influence sales opportunities across Global markets
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technical needs, address challenges, and provide expert guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Service Delivery and Product teams worldwide to secure accurate pricing, delivery approvals, and alignment on solution feasibility.
  • Function as the Rimini Street IT Infrastructure technical subject matter expert who is confident in distilling complex concepts for non-technical audiences in addition to leading immersive technology architecture discussions across C-level executives, solution architects, I&O leaders, IT security teams and domain practitioners.  
  • Deliver compelling presentations on Rimini Street’s services and support model—virtually and in person—behind the services we can deliver to clients today and how we can support clients on their journey to modernization across the IT infrastructure stack.
  • Guide prospective clients on IT virtualization support, security, roadmap and long-term paths with Rimini Street as they consider whether to maintain their current hypervisor environment, migrate to a multi-hypervisor approach, or modernize with a multi-solution stack (examples: hybrid cloud, containers, open-source components)  
  • Develop comprehensive scoping requirements that define the services to be delivered, ensuring clarity and accuracy for downstream execution.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource for global Rimini Street sellers and Solution Engineering Team for new logo, cross-sell and renewal selling motions
  • Contribute to other company-wide initiatives in support of the growth and profitability of your assigned product lines
  • Some travel outside your geography in support of global initiatives
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time to support sales deals

Experience

  • 12 to 15 years’ experience in a Pre-Sales Engineering Role or Pre-Sales Solution Architect role within any IT infrastructure technology, operating system, or cloud ecosystem (software and/or Services), supporting a geographically or industry-focused sales organization.
  • 10+ years of IT virtualization architecture experience across one or more of the following organizations: VMware, Nutanix, HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, RedHat. 
  • Technical and functional expertise with hyperscalers, hybrid on-premises/cloud environments, migration path risk vs. benefit assessment, open source components, IT infrastructure security, AI and containers
  • Expertise with IT Infrastructure software, including full life-cycle implementation experience, configuration, and administration of VMware
  • Knowledge of IT virtualization maintenance/patching mechanics, security implementation and architecture
  • Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple components 
  • Ability to collaborate across prospects, clients, Sales, Client Delivery, Client Onboarding, Client Engagement & Success Managers, Deal Desk, Product Management, Product Marketing

  • Proven ability to achieve sales quota goals consistently
  • Superb troubleshooting skills and tenacity in problem-solving
  • Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long-term, successful working relationships with Clients
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the IT Infrastructure domain
  • Proven experience in consultative selling to position Rimini Street as a trusted vendor-agnostic strategic advisor
  • Excellent English communication skills – verbal & written are required
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
  • Extreme focus on Client satisfaction
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high-pressure situations
  • The ability to work remotely from a home-based office in a virtual environment

Desired Qualifications  

  • The best candidates will have knowledge of multiple IT Infrastructure components across multiple releases, including proficiency with multiple hypervisors, their components, business processes, integration mechanics, configuration requirements, and technical implications of vendors shifting from a perpetual license to a subscription model

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

The general OTE range for this type of role is 209k - 314k depending on skills and experience. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be based on several factors such as: a candidate's location, and the level of applicable skills and professional experience. Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.
