Staff Product Manager, Platform - Hybrid in Seattle, WA - paid relocation available

We're hiring a Staff Product Manager, Platform to lead one of RentSpree's core platform domains — the foundational systems that power how thousands of agents and landlords serve millions of renters every day.

Platform work at RentSpree sits at the intersection of user experiences, regulatory environment, and third-party vendor infrastructure. It's product surface area where the right architectural bets today determine how quickly we can ship for the next five years, and where user trust is earned in seconds and lost just as fast.

You'll own the strategy and roadmap for evolving this platform — working across user-facing flows, vendor partnerships, compliance, and the underlying platform layers. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with significant ownership. You'll partner closely with design, engineering, legal and compliance, marketing, and customer success to translate ambiguous problems into clear, shippable solutions.

You'll thrive here if you're energized by complex, systems-level product problems; if you can hold both the craft of a great user experience and the rigor of a platform decision in your head at the same time; and if you take pride in deeply understanding the people you build for.

This role is based in Seattle, with in-office collaboration 2 days per week.

What You'll Do
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and execution for a core platform domain at RentSpree
  • Lead the evolution of a mature, high-volume product surface — balancing incremental delivery with longer-horizon platform bets
  • Develop deep expertise in the systems you own: how vendors, compliance frameworks, data flows, and user behavior shape what's possible
  • Partner with engineering and design to make thoughtful architectural tradeoffs between speed, flexibility, and reliability
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, and external partners to navigate regulated terrain
  • Define success metrics that balance user outcomes, business impact, and operational health
  • Communicate clearly and often with executives, cross-functional partners, and the working team, bringing clarity to complex tradeoffs and driving decisions forward

Our job descriptions evolve with our business needs and priorities. In addition to the description above, your role may include additional tasks, projects and team support as needed.

Skills You Bring
  • 6+ years of product management experience, including experience in a high-growth environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading platform, infrastructure, or systems-level products
  • Strong product sense and fundamentals
  • Comfort with ambiguity and systems complexity — you can reason about products that span multiple user personas, third-party integrations, and regulatory or policy constraints
  • A bias for action — you find scrappy paths forward without sacrificing quality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analytical fluency — you can interpret data, size opportunities, and define clear, measurable success metrics

Qualities You Practice

These encompass our guiding principles and startup culture competencies:

  • Take full ownership and accountability: Drives projects from idea to execution, with pride, urgency, and a “do what it takes” mentality.
  • Collaborate with clarity, candor, and respect: Communicate openly and courageously, offer and receive feedback well, and build trust through transparency and reliable partnership.
  • Strive for excellence while staying humble: Driven with a bias for action, hold a high bar, think critically, and continuously look to improve.
  • Bring a versatile, proactive mindset: Adapt to evolving needs, anticipate challenges, take initiative, be resourceful, and embrace opportunities to achieve high quality results.
  • Innovate and learn fast: Experiment, learn from failure, and seek opportunities to introduce new methods or diverse ways of achieving results.
  • Engage in healthy debate and commit as a team: Contribute ideas, challenge constructively, and align quickly for decisive action.
  • AI is a core skill: Equip yourself to use AI in your daily workflow, boosting productivity, accelerating RentSpree’s growth, and building future-ready career skills in a world where AI literacy is essential.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
