Job Description

The ideal Enterprise Strategy & Growth Manager leads high-impact projects supporting the Executive Team and operational leaders across the enterprise. Across the team, the common theme is driving the achievement of Nordstrom, long-term growth ambition.  

Team Focus Areas: 

  • Enterprise Strategy: “core” strategy that includes long-term planning, identifying major growth vectors, and translating strategy into a multi-year delivery roadmap in partnership with business owners 
  • Business Development: identify external opportunities to contribute to long-term ambition, such as partnerships and investments  
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: measure, understand, and educate the enterprise on market trends, market share capture opportunities, and changes in the competitive landscape 
  • Enterprise Activation: also known as “office of the CEO,” provide support to the CEO and delegates on special projects 

A day in the life... 

  • Build trust, rapport, and a strong collaborative relationship with senior leaders and stakeholders to understand the deliverables, actions, and decisions for which they are accountable 
  • Frame hard, ambiguous problems by bringing a rigorous, hypothesis-led, and data-informed approach   
  • Leverage strong analytical acumen to uncover insights and opportunities for unlocking business value 
  • Synthesize complex inputs into clear, compelling stories that facilitate commercial decision-making and action-taking - in both verbal and written form 
  • Identify and pursue sources of enterprise value creation in partnership with Strategy directors & SVP of Strategy, Executive Team and operational leaders 
  • Manage project teams (Assoc & Sr Assoc level talent), showing up as an emerging leader for the entire team 
  • Demonstrate enterprise thinking by balancing function-specific goals with broader company strategy, influence change beyond formal authority 
  • Translate strategic direction into clear execution plans and operating rhythms, ensuring accountability and momentum across teams 
  • Live Nordstrom values, showing up consistently with large measures of reliability, effectiveness and a commitment to outcomes 

You own this if you have... 

  • MBA or equivalent experience with 8+ years of relevant work, including in strategy, management, consulting, investment banking and/or the retail industry  
  • A strong sense of ownership and impact that is measured not in effort, but by enterprise adoption of solutions and strong results that follow 
  • High intellectual curiosity with the humility to learn and the courage to challenge assumptions 
  • A strategic mindset that can “hold the tension” between getting the details right and keeping the big ideas big 
  • A passion for managing and developing top-tier talent through coaching, feedback, and proactive opportunity creation 

Pay Range Details


The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$121,000.00 - $199,000.00 Annual
