T-Mobile is synonymous with innovation–and you could be part of the team that disrupted an entire industry! We reinvented customer service, brought real 5G to the nation, and now we’re shaping the future of technology in wireless and beyond. Our work is as exciting as it is rewarding, so consider the career opportunity below as your invitation to grow with us, make big things happen with us, above all, #BEYOU with us. Together, we won’t stop!

Get hands-on experience, training—and a leg up on a bright future.

T-Mobile didn’t become a leader by following the playbook. We got here by breaking it. We’re a disruptor that now plays on a higher tier, and we’re still raising the bar for millions of customers nationwide. If you want to work somewhere that sets the standard instead of matching it, this is your place.
This is an 11-week paid learning experience where you’ll do real work, not busywork. You’ll build relationships with other interns and leaders across the company, and you’ll be paired with mentors who will challenge you to grow skills that matter. We’ll give you hands-on projects with real stakes, and we expect your creativity and sharp ideas to make an immediate impact. You’ll work alongside T-Mobile employees who have your back and who still believe the best ideas can come from anyone.

What It’s Like

The Business Communications Team supports commercial messaging and branded calling products that touch every T-Mobile subscriber, with yearly traffic volumes in the 100B+ range. We’re a close-knit group of Product Managers, Product Operations, and Compliance partners. We’re small enough that you’ll be seen and heard, and big enough that your work matters. A typical week mixes stakeholder conversations, data digging, documenting decisions, and pushing initiatives forward. We value collaboration, curiosity, and people who challenge decisions and speak up.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support both Product Operations and Product Management initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in product strategy, execution, and operational excellence. You’ll help improve processes, track key performance metrics, gather business requirements, and analyze data to find opportunities to improve products and the customer experience. Your work will help us move faster and make smarter, data-driven decisions on high-impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements alongside Product Managers
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze customer feedback to surface product opportunities
  • Support product roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Own a defined process improvement or product enhancement initiative, from identifying the opportunity through delivery
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, and document key decisions
  • Identify risks and dependencies that could affect execution, and propose solutions
  • Analyze data and track key performance metrics to drive operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into actionable recommendations
  • Present findings and insights to business stakeholders

What It Takes

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the habit of always asking why
  • A solutions-first mindset: you bring options, not just problems, and start working toward outcomes right away
  • Confidence using your voice to raise challenges, ask questions, and challenge assumptions
  • Clear communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to turn data into actionable insights and collaborate across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Agile methodologies, and product lifecycle management (preferred)

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
  • Must have one or more course(s) remaining in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program post internship
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for external Summer Internships, please see Magenta Accelerator if interested

Relocation assistance will be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $27/hour to $50/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on education/STEM vs non-STEM designation.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
