Technical Solutions Architect II – Microsoft Azure

• Experience: At least 5 years selling, architecting and/or implementing Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, with hands-on expertise in application modernization. 
• Agentic Platforms / Microsoft Foundry: Hands-on experience designing, building and deploying AI agents using Microsoft Foundry (or a comparable agentic platform), including agent orchestration, grounding and integration with enterprise data and applications. 
• Data Platforms / Microsoft Fabric: Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric as a unified data platform, including its role in powering AI and agentic workloads. 
• Azure Application Modernization: Demonstrable expertise modernizing legacy applications on Azure, including, ideally, refactoring monolithic workloads into cloud-native architectures and leveraging AI-assisted development and refactoring tools to accelerate modernization work. 
• AI Fluency: Deep fluency in AI, with hands-on comfort using everyday Workspace AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Anthropic Claude, and experience applying Gen AI coding and refactoring assistants to modernization work. 
• Communication: Outstanding organizational, presentation and speaking skills. This is a technical pre-sales role that is both customer-facing and partner-facing. 
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert preferred; completion of the Frontier Transformation Engineer journey will be strongly preferred. Confident ability to demonstrate equivalent-level subject matter expertise with an immediate plan to acquire or re-acquire relevant certifications will also be considered. 
• Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience preferred. 
• Travel: Ability for overnight travel (25% - 50%). 

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $175,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?

Technical Solutions Architects are quintessential customer advocates with both superb business acumen and deep technical proficiency. As a key contributor around Microsoft Azure, and especially the areas of Agentic Platforms, Data Platforms, and Application Modernization, you will focus on transforming business through innovative solutions that deliver best in class omnichannel experiences. 

You will use data-driven approaches and cutting-edge AI tools to align and execute WWT’s portfolio across the business. More specifically, you will be WWT’s go-to Microsoft Azure thought leader as pertains to AI, Data, and Application Modernization, helping clients achieve critical business outcomes related to the same. To that end, you will serve as an industry-recognized technical authority on building production-grade AI agents with Microsoft Foundry, unifying data estates to fuel those agents with Microsoft Fabric, and modernizing legacy applications, including the integration of AI capabilities, through the use of AI Coding Assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Developer Experience (DevEx) tools such as Azure DevOps. 

Responsibilities:

• Practice Area Development: Architect and codify WWT’s Azure AI, Data, and Application Modernization approach, pairing AI-assisted code refactoring and modernization tooling with Microsoft Foundry to embed agentic capabilities, and with Microsoft Fabric to provide the unified, contextual data those agents need. 
• Strategic Portfolio: In collaboration with the larger WWT team, build and maintain the AI, Data, and Application Modernization portions of WWT’s Cloud solution portfolio, driving the creation of standardized and repeatable solution offerings in conjunction with our strategic partners and their programs. 
• Partner/Solution Alignment: Work with our professional services organization and trusted services partners to ensure alignment between our solution portfolio and services capabilities across Microsoft Azure, Foundry, and Fabric. 
• Pre-Sales: Lead AI, Data, and Application Modernization briefings, assessments, and workshops, guiding Azure client stakeholders on Microsoft Foundry-based agent design, Microsoft Fabric-based data platform strategy, and overall application modernization approach. You will be the technical authority validating and differentiating WWT’s approach and offerings from commodity migration and AI point solutions. 
• Enablement: Elevate the technical fluency of our matrixed sales organization on Microsoft Azure, especially in the areas of Agentic Platforms, Data Platforms, and Application Modernization, teaching them to identify and helping them to qualify relevant professional services opportunities within client accounts. 
• Competency Leadership: Drive WWT’s alignment with Microsoft’s relevant Azure, AI, and Data solution partner designations, ensuring our internal IP maps directly to Microsoft funding and co-sell programs.
