Product Manager

We are seeking a high-caliber, detail-oriented Product Manager to lead the development of critical product initiatives. In this role, you won’t just be managing a roadmap; you will be the primary bridge between our product vision and our development partners.

The ideal candidate is a master of documentation who can translate vague ideas into airtight requirements and navigate the nuances of working with both internal and external engineering teams without losing sight of user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • External Partner Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external development firms. You will manage timelines, ensure delivery quality, and hold partners accountable to technical and functional standards.

  • Requirements Authoring: Write comprehensive PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Your documentation should be clear and comprehensive.

  • Backlog Grooming: Be a co-owner of the product backlog. You will collate, flesh out, and ruthlessly prioritize features based on ROI, and ensure the dev team always has a "ready to build" queue.

  • UX Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with UX Designers to transform wireframes into functional specs. You ensure that the final build respects the design intent while remaining technically feasible.

  • Quality Assurance & Validation: Perform rigorous UAT to ensure that external deliverables meet our internal "Definition of Done" and align with the original requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in Product Management, specifically with a track record of managing both internal and external development projects.

  • Technical Writing: Proven ability to write detailed user stories and product requirements using tools like Jira and Notion.

  • The "Detail" Factor: You think of the edge case no one else saw.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical dev teams and non-technical stakeholders.

  • UX Fluency: A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to critique a Figma file from a functional perspective.

Why You’ll Love This Role

You will have a high degree of influence on Wordly’s cutting-edge product. We are changing how people communicate in meetings and events to make a more inclusive and connected world. You’ll help us shape the future.

If you enjoy the challenge of taking a messy set of ideas and organizing them into a perfectly executed product launch, this is your seat.

Located in Los Altos, California, Wordly is an exciting tech startup that is looking to grow its engineering and GTM teams! From virtual meetings to large, in-person conference venues, Wordly strives to provide high quality, real-time translation services in 50+ languages to anyone, anywhere.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
