The 1ES (One Engineering System) team is responsible for enabling the world's best engineering teams with world-class tools and systems that help them ship products their customers love. 


We are hiring a Senior Product Manager - CoreAI to identify and execute opportunities to improve productivity for software engineers and AI agents at Microsoft. The Senior Product Manager - CoreAI would own key OKRs that will improve engineering productivity of developers across Microsoft that can span Developer VDI, Build Infrastructure/ Engines and Test Infrastructure/ Tooling. 


It would be required for the candidate to have a background in coding or be a developer interested in transitioning to product management. They should be familiar with the software engineering tools landscape, understand CI/CD systems and have experience pitching ideas for the developer persona. Additionally, they should be using AI and AI-coding tools, capable of writing queries against telemetry databases to identify opportunities and ideally stay updated with the latest developments in the software engineering industry.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and rally the team around high value opportunities to improve Engineering Productivity, Software Quality and Developer Satisfaction. 
  • Collaborate with various product owners at Microsoft to co-partner on opportunities and help boost their developers’ productivity.
  • Standardize Engineering systems tooling inside Microsoft.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and outcomes.
  • Be a power user and evangelist of Engineering Systems products the candidate will own.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience 
 
Other Requirements: 
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
 
Preferred/Additional Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical product management experience OR equivalent experience as a developer.
  • Experience using Developer products and workflows, including tools such as Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub and AI.
  • Experience pitching, building and rolling out tools/services to developers.
  • Hands-on experience with analyzing structured data supporting/disproving assumptions and predictions. 

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
