Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:
We are hiring a Strategic Account Manager to own and grow Remitly’s most important business partner relationships after they sign. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, relationship management, product, and operations. You will be responsible for turning signed partnerships into successful, growing businesses — driving implementation, live payment volume, revenue growth, retention, and expansion.

You will become a strategic advisor to your partners, understanding their business objectives, payment flows, customer needs, and expansion plans and translating those opportunities into additional Remitly capabilities, corridors, use cases, and volume.

What You’ll Do

  • Own a portfolio of strategic Remitly partners from implementation through ongoing growth and expansion.
  • Serve as the primary commercial relationship owner for assigned partners.
  • Develop deep relationships with senior stakeholders across payments, product, finance, treasury, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Lead partner onboarding and implementation in partnership with Product, Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and other internal teams.
  • Establish joint business plans with strategic partners, including launch objectives, volume targets, geographic expansion, and new use cases.
  • Drive partners from signed agreements to live payment volume and measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships across additional corridors, payment methods, geographies, use cases, and Remitly capabilities.
  • Develop account strategies that maximize partner lifetime value and Remitly revenue.
  • Monitor partner performance, payment volumes, revenue, operational health, and key business metrics.
  • Identify risks to partner growth or retention and develop proactive mitigation plans.
  • Lead regular business reviews and executive-level partner meetings.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resolution of partner issues and ensure clear ownership and follow-through.
  • Gather partner feedback and market intelligence and translate it into actionable recommendations for Product and the GM.
  • Partner with Business Development on expansion opportunities and referrals within existing partner ecosystems.
  • Identify opportunities for case studies, references, joint marketing, and other activities that strengthen Remitly's market position.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts, pipeline for expansion opportunities, and partner health metrics.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10+ years of strategic account management, partnerships, business development, payments, fintech, or financial services experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise relationships and growing strategic accounts.
  • Strong understanding of payments, financial infrastructure, fintech, or related technology.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across Product, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify and execute expansion opportunities.
  • Strong project and program management skills; able to drive complex implementations through ambiguity and organizational dependencies.
  • Ability to understand payment flows and translate technical, operational, and regulatory considerations into practical partner solutions.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and executive communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple strategic relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify opportunities, risks, and performance trends.
  • Customer-backwards mindset with a strong bias toward execution and measurable outcomes.

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with marketplaces, gig/workforce platforms, fintechs, banks, wallets, or remittance/payment companies.
  • Experience with cross-border payments or mass payments.
  • Experience managing API-based or embedded financial services partnerships.
  • Experience managing global or multi-market enterprise accounts.
  • Experience with commercial negotiations, pricing, or partnership economics.
  • Experience taking a new financial product from implementation through scale.

This Role Is Not For You If

  • You prefer relationship management without commercial accountability.
  • You are primarily an order-taker rather than someone who actively identifies growth opportunities.
  • You are uncomfortable getting into the details of implementation, payment flows, operations, or partner performance.
  • You hand issues to other teams without owning the outcome with the customer.
  • You prefer managing mature accounts with predictable processes rather than helping build a new business.
  • You measure success primarily by relationship health rather than live volume, revenue, growth, and partner outcomes.
