Leads strategic qualitative and mixed-methods research for Pinterest Ads, uncovering advertiser and user needs, shaping product strategy and roadmaps, and influencing senior leadership. Owns research agendas, selects appropriate methods, synthesizes findings, presents recommendations, leads cross-team initiatives, evaluates sustained research investments, applies AI to research workflows, and mentors researchers. Partners closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and quantitative researchers.

Design, implement, and optimize Pinterest’s large-scale batch processing infrastructure. The role focuses on Spark, Presto/Trino, Iceberg, and other big data technologies operating across hundreds of petabytes. Responsibilities include collaborating with data stakeholders, leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and ensuring data systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient.

Own the strategy and execution of Pinterest advertising products that use identity, conversion, and measurement signals to improve customer acquisition, incrementality, and bidding optimization. Lead multi-quarter product roadmaps and collaborate with engineering, data science, design, research, marketing, sales, legal, privacy, and policy teams. Own Pinterest’s company-wide strategy for detecting and enforcing against bots, account takeovers, spam, and other adversarial behavior. Define multi-year roadmaps, develop ML-powered detection and enforcement systems, establish measurement strategies, and coordinate investment across Policy, Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Security, and Identity teams. Lead executive alignment while balancing enforcement effectiveness with false-positive user impact.

Lead technical direction for Pinterest’s foundational machine learning capabilities in visual representation learning, multimodal content understanding, and LLM-based personalization. Drive initiatives from research and experimentation through productionization and adoption. Build reusable embeddings, models, semantic signals, and ML infrastructure using distributed training and data pipelines. Collaborate across product, engineering, data science, and applied science while mentoring technical teams and guiding multi-quarter roadmaps.

Own the vision, roadmap, and requirements for Pinterest’s ads quality ranking and optimization systems. Partner with engineering, machine learning, data science, design, research, PMM, sales, and policy teams to improve ad retrieval, ranking, bidding, pacing, measurement, and marketplace outcomes. Define experiments, guardrails, success metrics, and technical requirements; coordinate launches from discovery through adoption while balancing advertiser value with a safe, delightful Pinner experience.

Lead the multi-year strategy and roadmap for Pinterest’s content-to-discovery infrastructure, spanning content acquisition, catalog onboarding, processing, enrichment, freshness, search and shopping indexing, and retrieval. Partner with engineering, data science, content, shopping, and search teams to improve data quality, relevance, reliability, latency, and scale. Mentor peer product managers and influence cross-functional technical initiatives without direct people management.

Leads Pinterest’s App Promotion engineering team through App Install Optimization beta-to-GA delivery. Owns the engineering roadmap, advertiser experience, measurement accuracy, experimentation, reporting, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution across Ads, ML, Measurement, Product, and Design. Manages, hires, coaches, and develops a team of 5–6 full-stack and mobile engineers while driving scalable production systems and inclusive team culture.
