Owns end-to-end verification control programs across products and geographies. Responsibilities include designing and testing first-line-of-defense controls, assessing effectiveness, supporting transaction monitoring and incident response, using automation and AI, translating risk insights into technical requirements, maintaining audit readiness, and leading initiatives across verification, sanctions, and FinCrime programs. The role partners extensively with product, engineering, analytics, compliance, and operations teams.

Design, build, test, and operate high-throughput distributed backend services for Remitly’s global money movement platform. Own data models, APIs, configuration-driven systems, migrations, routing intelligence, observability, and production reliability. Collaborate with product, operations, analytics, ML, Treasury, and partner teams while supporting Tier-1 services, compliance controls, technical strategy, and responsible AI-assisted development.

Design and deliver partner integrations for global pay-in and pay-out networks. Build scalable, resilient, observable services in a cloud-based architecture while using AI-assisted development. Own service health, on-call support, SLOs, incident response, technical specifications, design reviews, and architecture decisions. Mentor engineers, interview candidates, collaborate with product and operations teams, support modernization of legacy services, and help shape technical roadmaps.

Develop and implement brand strategy across campaigns, products, channels, and global markets. Create strategic briefs, positioning, messaging, naming frameworks, and voice and tone guidelines. Evaluate agency work, partner with creative, growth, product, research, analytics, and regional teams, and ensure culturally relevant brand execution. Train AI systems on brand standards, develop AI-ready frameworks, and establish guardrails for accurate, compliant content.

Build and enhance software for site reliability domains including observability, incident management, problem management, and resiliency. Lead ambiguous initiatives from planning through delivery, improve company-wide availability through automation and tooling, and mentor engineering teams on observability and high-availability design.

Owns global People compliance programs, policies, controls, audit readiness, employee lifecycle compliance, regulatory monitoring, statutory reporting, mandatory training, and risk governance. Advises People, Legal, and business leaders on labor and employment compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Manages employee-facing documentation, background check programs, HRIS controls, vendor relationships, compliance metrics, and readiness for new markets while identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation.

Lead technical direction for Remitly Business product engineering, including Go services, APIs, Temporal money-movement workflows, and React/TypeScript architecture. Own large initiatives from design through launch, conduct design reviews, establish AI-assisted development standards, and ensure security, reliability, and observability. Mentor engineers, shape roadmaps with cross-functional partners, and design scalable, compliant financial systems.

Lead end-to-end product design for Remitly’s core remittances experience, from discovery and ideation through wireframes, prototypes, and shipped interfaces. Partner with product, engineering, research, writing, and analytics teams to define customer problems, influence product direction, and advocate for user needs. Design cohesive, emotionally engaging experiences while setting a high bar for interaction and visual design.

Own SEO and answer engine optimization for Remitly’s high-value sender segment. Responsibilities include keyword and competitor research, organic acquisition strategy, scalable landing-page development, technical SEO collaboration, rankings and visibility reporting, off-page promotion, affiliate and digital PR coordination, AI-assisted content and analytics workflows, and forecasting acquisition impact.

Own the Remitly Business product strategy, retention, customer payment volume, and revenue per business customer. Lead workflow capabilities including batch, scheduled, recurring payments, recipient management, approvals, reconciliation, exports, and integrations. Identify customer and market opportunities, use data and customer research to prioritize investments, build trust features, and ship within regulatory, legal, risk, and compliance constraints. This individual contributor role requires close partnership with executives and cross-functional teams.
