Partner with infrastructure teams to identify automation opportunities and shape Airwallex’s infrastructure AI strategy.

Designs, operates, and scales Kubernetes-based data and AI infrastructure across public cloud environments. Builds platforms for Kafka, Spark, Flink, AI gateways, model serving, traffic management, observability, and self-service deployment. Partners with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, performance, cost efficiency, and operational simplicity of distributed systems.

Architect and build high-performance distributed infrastructure for batch and streaming data across global regions. Optimize state management, checkpointing, JVM performance, and exactly-once processing. Develop AI infrastructure including vector indexing, agentic workflows, and real-time data streaming. Own the full software development lifecycle, contribute to shared tooling and SDKs, and mentor engineers through technical leadership and design reviews.

Develop and enhance payment products and transaction systems using Java and Kotlin. Design and build microservice components, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend architectural improvements. Mentor less-experienced engineers on software practices and coding standards. The role focuses on highly available, distributed, high-concurrency risk and payment platforms, including fraud detection and risk decisioning infrastructure.

Create self-service DB platforms, secure AI-agent interfaces, and reliability automation. Drive database best practices, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with product teams on performance, schema design, and operational excellence.

Lead and scale engineering teams building Airwallex's global Payments Platform. Define architecture and roadmap for payment processing, routing, settlement, reconciliation, and partner integrations. Drive reliability, observability, security, and developer productivity. Manage Engineering Managers, set OKRs, coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Risk, Compliance, and regional teams to deliver high-quality, business-aligned outcomes.

Design, build, and optimize internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-driven tooling to improve engineering velocity, reliability, and code quality. Implement monitoring, incident response, and on-call practices; collaborate with domain teams to identify productivity bottlenecks, deliver scalable solutions, and enforce testing and quality standards.

Design, build, and operate autonomous infrastructure AI agents on Airwallex's Quartermaster platform to automate SRE, DevOps, and DBA workflows. Integrate agents with Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud APIs, monitoring, databases, and CI/CD. Define agent architecture, safety guardrails, evaluation metrics, and collaborate with SRE and platform teams to deploy reliable, auditable autonomous systems in production.
