Lead the observability engineering team and roadmap for Temporal’s internal telemetry platform and customer-facing diagnostics. Own high-cardinality telemetry ingestion, storage, querying, visualization, alerting, incident response, reliability, cost, and capacity. Hire, coach, and develop engineers; guide architecture and delivery; partner with Product, Security, Support, and customers; manage vendors; and improve operational outcomes across a multi-tenant, multi-cloud platform.

Own Temporal’s Nexus product strategy and roadmap for agent connectivity. Identify customer and market opportunities, prioritize platform capabilities, guide engineering and design, and drive discovery, execution, launches, sales enablement, and adoption metrics. The role requires strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, identity, authorization, infrastructure, and developer platforms, plus close collaboration with founders, customers, engineering, sales, and marketing.

Design, build, test, document, and operate backend features for Temporal’s scalable, multi-tenant Nexus services. Responsibilities include durable execution, asynchronous processing, customer-facing APIs, distributed systems, observability, alerts, dashboards, and production runbooks. The role requires developing reliable concurrent software for remote cloud and on-premise enterprise offerings.

Own technical product marketing for Temporal’s core primitives, SDKs, APIs, Nexus, and developer tools. Build demos, sample applications, technical guidance, launch content, and positioning while testing developer workflows and identifying adoption barriers. Partner with engineering, product, documentation, developer relations, sales, solutions architecture, and customers to support launches, resolve technical blockers, influence product improvements, and explain technical tradeoffs to developer audiences.

Lead market-facing product marketing for Temporal’s technical platform. Own market priorities, positioning, messaging, GTM strategy, campaigns, activation programs, solutions and vertical marketing, sales plays, competitive intelligence, and pricing and packaging partnership. Manage senior product marketing contributors, align Sales, Demand Generation, Brand, Communications, Product, Finance, and Solutions Architecture, and turn customer and field insights into measurable pipeline, adoption, conversion, win-rate, and expansion outcomes.

Leads product marketing for Temporal’s cloud, platform architecture, core products, SDKs, developer experience, and AI capabilities. Owns positioning, launch strategy, adoption programs, customer research, ecosystem strategy, technical messaging, and cross-functional alignment with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Developer Relations. Manages senior Product Marketing Engineers, supports strategic sales opportunities, and establishes priorities across technical product portfolios while maintaining hands-on responsibility for major narratives and launches.

Build and lead Temporal’s technical competitive intelligence program through product evaluations, reproducible benchmarks, win-loss analysis, pricing research, and field intelligence. Translate evidence into positioning, battlecards, comparison guides, demos, technical content, and executive recommendations. Partner with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, Engineering, and Enablement to support strategic deals, respond to competitor changes, and drive product and go-to-market decisions. Establish reporting, measurement, governance, and reusable field guidance.

Design, implement, test, and operate features for Temporal’s open-source distributed workflow server. The role focuses on backend systems, task processing, scheduling, persistence, visibility, reliability, performance, observability, and developer experience. The engineer will collaborate across teams, participate in design and code reviews, improve documentation and operational tooling, and contribute to a complex open-source codebase while developing distributed systems expertise.

Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of Temporal’s distributed replication stack. Drive replication protocols for high availability, cross-cluster and cross-region failover, and workload migration. Define consistency, ordering, recovery, and performance guarantees; improve scalability and reliability; debug production issues; influence technical direction across teams; mentor engineers; and contribute to Temporal OSS and cloud infrastructure.

Develop and improve Temporal Proxy, an extensible open-source solution for Temporal Cloud and customers. Implement request handling, configuration, authentication and authorization integrations, encryption hooks, observability, testing, documentation, and production debugging. Collaborate with security, infrastructure, server, and engineering teams to deliver reliable proxy capabilities and improve developer experience.
